McNeeley (Neeley for short) Ann Moore is a writer and educator from East Tennessee. She received her BA in English literature with a minor in ESL education from The University of Tennessee and is currently getting her masters in education at Teachers College at Columbia University in curriculum and teaching. In 2021-22, she completed a Fulbright grantee to Romania where she taught college level classes and wrote a lot while looking out the windows of trains across Eastern Europe.

Neeley’s writing seeks to explore the themes of growing up and religion in modern Appalachia. More realistically, she spends her time trying to find the right words to talk about the world around her and the pursuit of all things good, beautiful, and true. Her goal in both her career and her life is to find ways to tell good stories and educate others through the creative arts.

favorite things: children’s literature, cross-cultural experiences, 35 mm film, walking through cities at dusk, musical theatre, folk music, hiking around the Smoky mountains, documentaries, movie nights with long discussions afterwards, the Oxford Comma, classic and modern Disney + all things related, Virginia Woolf, coming of age films starring Saoirse Ronan, Gilmore Girls, Christmas tree farms, black coffee, liturgy, C.S. Lewis, freshly baked sourdough bread, and cronuts.
